Yup, that is indeed scary. The article goes on to mention that while our debt has increased over 1,000%, our income has only increased around 1%...yikes! But I was sitting in a job interview yesterday and had to give out the amounts I was making at my last three jobs...and I was shocked to see that it was the exact same amount! And yes, my debt has increased in that time span. How exactly do you get ahead with those statistics on reality?
